This was my very first concert – my parents bought tickets to the Starship and Eddie Money concert on January 10, 2004. I was barely a teenager at the time and had only heard of Eddie Money. I knew two of his songs; “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Baby Hold On”. I had never heard of Starship, so when they came on stage I really didn’t know any of their songs, but I do recall being quite impressed.
Today, having listened to Starship, it would be a thrill to be at another one of their concerts. I don’t know how I could have missed Mickey Thomas classics like “Jane” and “It’s Not Enough” even back then. Anyway, I really have no memory of their performance, other than that it was really loud and we sat as far back as possible at my request. Then, Eddie Money took the stage. I was waiting for the only two songs mentioned above, since those were the only two that I knew at the time.
I was still a bit too young to enjoy the whole experience, but you have to start somewhere!
