Steve Miller Concert Review – Minot 2006

Steve Miller 2006

My second concert, and first outdoor concert, was rocker Steve Miller at the North Dakota State Fair in July of 2006. It was my parents who wanted to go, but this would be the last concert in which they were the ones initiating the trip. Anyway, tickets were only 25 dollars, and with an general admission standing room, we were only a few feet back from the action.

He opened up with “Swingtown” and then ripped through all of his great ’70s hits like “Jungle Love” and “Fly Like an Eagle”, as well as the 1980s classic “Abracadabra”. Steve’s was able to recreate most of the great synth sounds from that track. My Dad and I both photographed the show, and since we used the same camera we lost track of who took each photo!

The North Dakota State Fair is a great concert venue, and Steve can still sing and play great all these years later.
