Rock veterans Fleetwood Mac have announced the band’s first tour in five years. While only 15 dates have been announced so far, the tour will continue into the late spring and summer of 2009. Absent from the tour will be Christie McVie, who left the band after the tour in support of Fleetwood’s 1997 album The Dance. Core members Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and John McVie however will all be along for the ride of likely sold-out shows across the country. I will be attending the band’s second tour date, in St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center, on March 3.
In other touring news, West Fargo’s Red River Valley Fair is already gearing up for 2009. The Fair always delivers at least one great rock band each year, and next year will be no exception. Survivor will take the stage on Friday, July 11. Some more bands maybe added to the bill as time goes on; 2008 featured three bands on one night: Dokken, Slaughter, and Blue Oyster Cult. There is one change for 09′s RRVF, however – it will be held three weeks later than usual. I’m not sure as to the reason for the change.
In May, Prairie Knights Casino in Fort Yates, ND will feature Nazareth and Molly Hatchet. Although both bands lack a significant number of original members, I will reserve judgment until I actually see the show. There are fun times ahead on the concert scene in 2009, and these December announcements are a taste of things to come.

I will be linking to this post tomorrow… and I have stumbled it and dugg it.
Good news indeed! Also, thanks for the mention over on your blog, I saw it a few weeks back.
