Guitar legend Eric Clapton has been touring almost non-stop for many years now, and this summer he will have a special guest joining him on the road in the form of the talented Steve Winwood. After collaborating at the 2007 Crossroads festival, the two English guitarists have decided to bring their talents together for a 14 city tour during the month of June. It’s not known whether or not the tour will continue later into the summer, but for now the confirmed dates are as follows:
Aside from the Clapton/Winwood tour, Motley Crue fans will be pleased to find out that Crue Fest 2, set for the summer of 2009, has been confirmed. A page with a countdown has been set up at this link. The announcement will take place on March 15, and North Dakota might just be on the itinerary this time around. Stay tuned!
Lastly, in a recent interview David Coverdale, the voice of Whitesnake, confirmed that the band does plan to tour the United States in 2009. The tour will begin some time after June 14, at which point the band plays the UK’s Download Festival with Def Leppard. Whitesnake’s last tour of the US was in 2005.
