I would also like to provide a quick update on the 2009 Rocklahoma festival, to be held from July 9 to July 12 in Pryor, OK.

High expectations have been set for this festival, which has delivered solid glam metal line-ups since its inception in 2007. This year, fans will no doubt be in for a treat once again as the following bands are welcomed to the stage: Twisted Sister, Great White, Vixen, Helix, Night Ranger, Warrant, Danger Danger, Nelson, Kix, Bango Tango, L.A. Guns, Baton Rouge, and Bonfire just to name a few. For the full line-up, head to www.rocklahoma.com. We will have an update on this as soon as the dates and times for these bands become available.

Festival goers may also want to keep an eye on the Half-Way Jam, a 3 day classic rock festival in Royalton, Minnesota. Tickets go on sale April 15, and since the line-up is still a complete mystery an announcement is surely on its way sometime in the next few days or weeks. Last year’s line-up fell a bit flat for Half-Way, but perhaps its organizers will kick it up a notch for 2009.

Update @ 5:30pm: The announcement for Half-Way came a bit faster than I anticipated! Here are the national bands signed as of this afternoon: Skid Row, Dokken, Great White, The Sweet, April Wine, and BulletBoys. The four metal bands signed represent a bit of a change in direction for the festival, which last year featured mostly southern-tinged rock from the 1970s (Marshall Tucker, John Cafferty). Note that Dokken will also be playing the Dakota Rock Fest on July 25 in Sioux Falls, SD.
