Monday Update – Fleetwood Mac and More

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham on March 3, 2009

We have just a few bits of news to share this morning. During an interview on a Philadelphia radio station last week, Stevie Nicks revealed some new information pertaining to the future of Fleetwood Mac, at least for the rest of the year. The band is of course on the road currently on the Unleashed tour, but the new information is that the tour is going to be extended globally, and in addition more dates will be added for the United States. Although dates are only announced through May 31, the tour will soon be extended to June 20 at which point Fleetwood Mac will take a small break before heading the Europe for a stretch of shows. Following this, more American dates and a new studio album are likely in order. Want to hear the full interview with Stevie? Take a listen at this link.

We’ve posted on this before, but it now appears that Journey and Heart will indeed be performing 10-15 shows together in July and August. There are three shows released so far: Iowa State Fair, Indiana State Fair, and California Mid-State Fair. More to come on this pairing, and with the North Dakota State Fair still holding back one rock concert the mind is left to wonder…

Lisa Coultrup, who runs the Kome-Rocks blog, has posted her interview with me at this link. I discuss how I got my start in rock photography, the concerts ahead, and the growing demand for just about anything having to do with the great artists featured on this site. Please check it out, and also take a look around at the site.

Update @ 5:04pm: There’s a brand new date on the Styx/REO Speedwagon/38 Special Can’t Stop Rockin’ tour! The trio will play the Metrapark Arena in Billings, Montana on May 29.

I hope to see some new Fleetwood material. Lindsey Buckingham is on fire right now in the song writting department. Check out his album from last year “Gift of Screws” it is a masterpiece.

  2. Your concert photography is spectacular. I was excited to hear additional Fleetwood Mac shows in June announced today for Canada, NJ and NY. So we’ll stay tuned for the European dates, then.
