In between concerts there are a few news bits to share. First, Jeremey Hunsicker, lead singer for the Journey tribute band Frontiers and co-writer of Journey’s 2008 single “Never Walk Away”, is currently at work on a solo album. The material is sounding very promising, and you can listen to several full tracks at his ReverbNation page. Be sure to give “What Can I Do” a listen – with immaculate vocals, a melodic chorus, and silky guitars, this song is a sure hit. Meanwhile, Jeremey will be leading Frontiers through an extensive tour of the eastern United States this summer. Their shows are always impressive as Jeremey’s vocal ability is showcased alongside a great backup band. Get all of their tour dates at their website, and don’t miss Frontiers in concert!
It’s going to be a very busy year once again for KC & the Sunshine Band as they play over 30 shows this spring, summer and fall. After an appearance on American Idol in April, singer Harry Wayne Casey (“KC”) and the band are ready to deliver the disco goods in a long series of live shows. The tour includes multiple night stays in Vegas and Atlantic City, along with a performance at the 2009 Orange County Fair. Check for a stop in your area at this link.
The fusion of Hagar, Satriani, Anthony, and Smith to form Chickenfoot will not be the only new supergroup this year. Bobby Kimball of Toto fame is putting together a new band called AKA, which includes Tony Kaye of Yes and Jay Schellen of Asia feat. John Payne. There’s a MySpace page set up for this new group, and tour dates are in the works. You’ll find the latest right here as soon as it happens.
