Chickenfoot will be capping off the first full week of the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien as the musical guest on Friday, June 5. Composed of Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Chad Smith, this supergroup has been making waves ever since the announcement was made. They’ve also been giving electric live performances in clubs all over the country in the lead-up to their album release on June 5. According to Hagar, Chickenfoot is a necessary change in pace: “I just got to a point where I felt I needed to grow, I was feeling stuck and stagnant. And the whole party thing I created, I just got tired of doing that. You need to eat and feed yourself in order to grow and the best way to do it for me is to start new projects, and I don’t want to call this band a project because we’re a band. It’s just getting together with other people for new input that stimulates and inspires you to become better. Scandinavian rockers Europe have come forth with a brand new album for later in the summer. Last Look at Eden will be the band’s third album in just five years, and their eighth overall effort. The band is best known for the 1986 breakthrough single “The Final Countdown“, which continues to be a staple at sporting events around the world. They’ve had difficulty retaining the success in America, but their newer albums and singles have continued to chart in their home country of Sweden, along with other European countries. Tomorrow the video for the forthcoming single, the title track from the album, will be streamed live at their MySpace page at 3 AM eastern, or 10 AM central European time.
