It may not have been your typical rock tour announcement, but entertainment tycoon Irving Azoff essentially revealed that Van Halen will launch another concert tour in 2010. Perhaps the band will be sporting a new album by this time, but even if that’s not the case, the second go-around with the one and only David Lee Roth will surely make headlines and sell tickets. The announcement took place yesterday at the 2009 Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference. Azoff is the CEO of Ticketmaster and is currently orchestrating the company’s merger with Live Nation.
Last week, guitarist Eddie Van Halen twittered about a rehearsal with son Wolfgang and brother Alex. At this link you’ll find those tweets, which would indicate that indeed the band is preparing for another tour. Of course, we are on Twitter as well – just head to Twitter.com/RockConcerts.
Living Legends Music has been conducting interviews with big names in the music business for quite a while, but on September 23, a spawn titled ‘The Music Cafe’ is sure to generate new excitement. The Music Cafe is a brand new concert series, and while it will take place at a venue in front of a live crowd just like any other concert, you will also be able to watch it live from home on your computer for just $2.99. The first show will feature three legends on one stage – Jimi Jamison (ex-Survivor), John Cafferty, and Larry Hoppen (Orleans). Come to GRP Studios in Orlando and see it all in person, or participate in the internet event and enjoy song requests, interviews, behind the scenes footage, and of course the concert itself.
