    Thanks!

  2. Joe Benedetto says:

I know you said “Lightning Strikes Again” will probably be Dokken’s final studio album, but do you still plan to continue writing and recording music?

  3. Hanuk "Chuck" Park says:

    1) Has the band finished recording of the new Greatest Hits record? How did it turn out, and how did Don manage to sing the classic Dokken songs that aren’t in his comfort zone anymore?

    2) Does the band have a plan to release a new studio album? If so, how would it sound, and has the band written some new material already?

    3) Who’s a permanant bass player of the band? Barry Sparks or Sean McNabb?

  4. Humberto Teles says:

    Hello there! My question is:

Considering that DOKKEN has toured Europe and will play in Japan this year and considering that the band has legendary status also in South America (in which its latest CDs where released), has the band (or Don as a solo artist) had received any offer at anytime to tour in South America (especially in Brazil, Argentina and Chile)?

If it got an offer before, why it never gone ahead? Poor offer from south american promoters? Any other reason to not playing in South America?

    Thanks,

    Humberto Teles

Couple of things I’d like to ask. On Rockline last year I asked Don if they play something off LSA.He said yes probably 2-3 songs, but what songs should they should remove from the song list? Well here goes, I’ve been Rokken W/ Dokken since 83,EVERYTIME they play 99% of the OLD George Lynch involved music.Jon is the BEST they’ve EVER had & proved it on LSA.If anything Don,show Jon some respect & play at least 3 songs from LSA & why not do Escape or something from Hell To Pay?Please Don give us Old Dokken followers something new to listen to you sing live.

  6. Matt Bucher says:

As a 25 year fan of the band, I’d like to know if we could get a setlist change for your shows. One of the greatest aspects of this band is that the entire catalog is as solid as could be. Every Dokken show I’ve seen in the last 15 years is the same setlist. Could we get a fresh show?

Any plans to play Seattle anytime soon with said setlist change? thanks Don!

  7. Michelle Williams says:

In the past decade we have witnessed the music industry undergo a radical change, from a physical to a digital distribution. Music as a digital product has transformed the music industry’s structure and value chain; good-bye brick-and-mortar stores, hello click-and-order virtual stores. Musicians and bands as a business are reacting to these market changes in order to meet today’s consumer demands. How do you see your current fans and future fans gaining access to your music in the future?

As you may be aware, in October of 2007 Radiohead released their 7th album In Rainbows without a prescribed price as an experiment. They asked fans to pay what they felt the album was worth, and within the first week of its release, they pulled in $10 million in sales. “If the average price was $8, then Radiohead made 4 to 8 times more per download than it did releasing it through a major label.”* Would you ever consider partaking in such an experiment with a future release?

    Thank you.

    1) Are there any unreleased tracks from the 80s lineup of Dokken?

    2) Was there ever a studio recording of “Cry Again”?

    3) Any plans to release these unreleased tracks/demos/etc (if there are any)?

    4) Would Don ever put out music from his old band Airborn?

    5) Any plans to remaster the older albums?

  9. Mike Quade says:

Just had to say that I love the new commercials, and was wondering if you had anymore plans to do anymore like, and also, that wasnt a very nice thing to do to that chicken

  10. Phantom says:

What are some of Dokken’s favorite U.S. cities to play? I’m from Chicago and the Windy City always seems to be very responsive, enthused & appreciative of Dokken shows. How do you like playing Chicago and what are some of your favorite tour stops?

  11. Madeline G. House says:

You mentioned in a prior interview that you enjoy reading. Are you currently reading anything noteworthy, or if not, is there any
    book(s) that you would recommend?

  12. Maddest Hatter says:

    1. There has been talk of a Dokken “reunion” tour over the last few years. We know Don has been speaking to George off and on. When was the last time Don spoke to Jeff Pilson? Are they on good terms?

    2. Any chance Don would release the “Gypsy Dog” demos onto cd? I’m sure it would do well selling on the Dokken website.

  13. JK says:

1.) Will we see new Dokken in the Europe in the future? North Europe is still waiting for you Don!

2.) What kind of memories do you have from your solo career & tour back in 1990-1991? Have you ever thought of playing some of those songs from “Up From The Ashes” live sometime soon?

3.) Do you ever watch clips of Dokken’s old/new bootlegs from YouTube? (Yes, there is plenty of them out there :) )

4.) Your voice has changed in recent years for different reasons, do you regret that you haven’t quit smoking? And how did you take care of your voice back in the 80s?

I want to thank Don for making so many amazing albums with Dokken and with his solo band. Dokken isn’t the most popular band here in Finland, but i still appreciate the work that you have done for hard rock and heavy rock.

Thanks to all of you who submitted questions! The interview took place just one day after the open call for questions, so I was unable to get so most of them. I will keep them in mind for next time!
