Even when not touring, Rush is almost always coming up with something new for their fans. This fall, Anthem Entertainment is announcing the release of Working Men, a live ‘best of’ CD/DVD. The footage on Working Men will be selected from the band’s three most recent DVD projects – Snakes and Arrows Live, Rush: R30, and Rush in Rio, along with one previously unreleased live cut in the form of “One Little Victory“. The project is due in stores and online November 17, with the DVD release being handled by Rounder Records, and the CD by Atlantic Records outside of Canada.
The trio’s last album, 2007′s Snakes and Arrows, landed at #3 on the Billboard 200. The tour that followed spanned two years and cemented the band’s status as an in-demand, premier live act. Fans have been left wondering what the future holds for Rush, and guitarist Alex Lifeson may have given the answer in a recent interview. “Tentatively, we start work on the next album in the fall,” Lifeson said. “I did mention it to [lead singer Geddy Lee] before he went away on holiday and he sort of looked the other way. Come September and we’ll certainly have some plans, we did the last record, or we started on the last album in the fall and I’d like to do that again, start recording maybe. I don’t know who might produce, that’s some ways off yet.”
In a later interview with Noisecreep.com, the guitarist’s sentiment on recording another album was unchanged, and he even added the possibility of a tour next summer. “…And then hopefully by next summer, we’d be ready to tour.” That full interview can be found at this link, and more details on the Working Men release can be found at the Rush is a Band blog.

Rush never gets old. I didn’t know they were coming out with a live CD. Thanks for the update!
