Scorpions Set for New Album, Tour

Scorpions Tour

No library of rock classics would be complete without a heavy dose of roaring Scorpions anthems. The German metal act is triumphed not only in their homeland, but also around the world for their evolving yet consistently recognizable sound. And they’re coming back – to the United States, that is.

The band’s new website proudly proclaims that 2009 was the year of the Scorpions. A plethora of awards including one of lifetime achievement from Germany, along with another successful European tour made the year one to remember. But the real excitement for fans America arrives next year as the “Get Your Sting and Blackout Tour” launches in the wake of a brand new studio album to be titled Sting in the Tail. The band is currently in the studio, but looking forward to a world tour set to include stops in the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia.

Vocalist Klaus Meine adds: “2010 is going to be a very special year for the Scorpions, so it is an especially good feeling to be able to start this tour at home.” Speculation about another arena tour in the states has abounded ever since the band’s large-scale 2003 outing with Whitesnake and Dokken. A touring partner (or two) will keep the band company and the arenas full.

A new DVD titled Amazonia: Live in the Jungle will hold fans over until the tour commences, and is available for preview on the band’s official website.
