Moondance Jam 19 is taking shape – and fast. Southern rock superstars Lynyrd Skynyrd were inked earlier this month for the Walker, Minnesota festival, and today a big announcement in modern rock enters the picture in the form of Buckcherry. The Los Angeles based rockers got their start over a decade ago, but it wasn’t until 2006′s hit album 15 that sales for the group took off into new territory. The release went platinum, and the band has been touring ever since.
Rolling Stone readers voted vocalist Josh Todd as the best possible replacement for Aerosmith star Steven Tyler, but Todd was quick to let fans of both bands know that he sees no reason to abandon status quo.
“He’s been a huge inspiration for me and Buckcherry. I truly believe that no one can take his place and hopefully they patch things up. I am the singer of Buckcherry and we are currently hard at work on the next record. Hopefully we will see an Aerosmith/Buckcherry tour in the future.”
Buckcherry completed its two-and-a-half month stint of opening up for KISS on the American leg of the Alive 35 tour last week after the final performance was postponed due to weather conditions. You can view our coverage of the tour at the links below:
