Ozzy Osbourne may have turned 61 earlier this month, but don’t expect a number to get in the way of some serious metal. The rocker plans to have a new album on store shelves by June of next year, with the title revealed today to be Soul Sucka.
The album will be Ozzy’s first since Black Rain, which yielded the highest Billboard 200 chart debut of his career. Released in May of 2007, Black Rain was certified Gold by the RIAA in just months after reaching #3.
Ozzy will also have a new guitarist at his side when it comes time to tour. Gus G., a greek metal guitarist, will replace long-time partner Zakk Wylde. When asked this summer about the change, Osbourne stated the following: “I haven’t fallen out with Zakk, but Zakk’s got his own band, and I felt like my stuff was beginning to sound like Black Label Society. I just felt like I wanted a change, you know?”
Song titles on Soul Sucka will include “Let It Die” and “Diggin’ Me Down”, along with the title track.
