It must be that time of the year again. Summer rock festivals are unleashing their lineups at rapid pace even as winter still clings on. This week, the M3 Rock Festival has been letting the line-up for its second annual concert event trickle out through the airwaves at 98 Rock in Baltimore.
The final word arrived today as the Scorpions were added to an already impressive list of bands slated to play including Cinderella, Vince Neil, Winger, KIX, Warrant, and L.A. Guns. Aside from setting up a truly spectacular night of music, this news also confirms rampant US tour rumors for Scorpions, Cinderella, and Winger.
All three bands have been anxious to bring their live shows to American soil. Scorpions recently announced a new world tour in support of a brand new CD titled Sting in the Tail; their last visit to North America was a brief one in the summer of 2008.
Cinderella had to pull the plug on their planned tour with Warrant that same year when singer Tom Keifer suffered a painful hemorrhage of his left vocal cord. Rehabilitation has reportedly brought Keifer’s voice back to the strength needed for live performances. And Winger’s absence from the states has also been duly noted; it took a new album called Karma to bring the band back in full force.
The M3 takes place on June 19 at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland. Tickets are not yet on sale for the event.
