It’s a Comeback for Cinderella

Cinderella is a band that’s no stranger to setbacks. In 1991, after completing a successful tour in support of their last platinum album, singer and multi-instrumentalist Tom Kiefer suddenly suffered from vocal cord paresis and underwent surgery to repair his singing ability. Singing became impossible for Kiefer more recently in 2008, when a planned tour with Warrant and the Lynch Mob was called off due to a hemorrhage of his left vocal cord.

But today, it seems the tables have turned for Kiefer and Cinderella. After working with a skilled vocal coach known as “the Miracle Man”, Kiefer’s voice is stronger than ever – and the band is hitting the road for what will be their first tour in four years.

“The singing voice is such a fine tuned instrument and any subtle change can throw it off,” said Kiefer in a recent interview with Bring Back Glam!. “I still sound the way I sound but I’m not hurting my voice, and it’s really worked and my voice feels stronger.”

Supporting the Scorpions on tour this summer will be Cinderella’s main duty, but the band has added solo performances in between these shows. There are nearly 40 shows in all, spanning from Spain to San Juan.

There hasn’t been a new Cinderella album since 1994, but fans may have to wait a bit longer for a fresh batch of studio output. “We always feel like a band when we get back together and tour so the plan right now is to not put any pressure on ourselves and to just get back out and have some fun, do shows and be a band again and we’ll see where it leads,” Kiefer commented in a recent interview with AOL’s Noisecreep. “It’s definitely a possibility we could make a record at some point, I just don’t know when that would be. I would say it’s gotta be right place, right time. It’s gotta feel right.”
