March 9, 2011 – Bored with conventional sounding titles, Steely Dan have gotten really creative with naming their tours in recent years. After names like “Rent Party ’09″ and “Art Crimes 2000″, both completely unrelated to any album title, Walter Becker and Donald Fagen have settled on a 2011 tour name that sounds like a board game played at the UN, along with an insignia to match.
The ‘Diplomacy’ tour will run its way through the United States this summer, and although eight shows are all that’s been announced so far, the band’s website promises more.
Steely’s last tour (in 2009) took the duo around the United States performing one of three hit albums in their entirety: The Royal Scam, Aja or Gaucho.
